Annual Report
What happened
The Help the Aged annual report was usually done in-house but 2007 was such an important year, it needed a new lease of life to communicate the successes and hopes to high-level stakeholders.
The brief
The brief was to ‘bring the report alive’ using content provided by the client, then designing an appealing framework to communicate the charity’s achievements, goals and financial standing - all whilst working within a ‘tight’ budget.
Our solution
We implemented a simple structure and stripped the information back, separating the real life quotes from the content. We selected strong, emotionally engaging photography and combined it with very strong typography and elegant graphics.
Why it worked
The annual report design was seen as very progressive but still worked within Help the Aged’s brand guidelines, keeping type sizes large and meeting accessibility standards. We increased the content by increasing the page number without increasing the print budget.
Why the client loved it
The design had a positive impact, both internally and externally. It succinctly communicated the scope of the charity’s work and its wide range of services. The client was particularly impressed that it was produced within a very tight timeframe and budget.
